20  General Public / E-Commerce Discussion / Re: Digishop on: September 17, 2005, 08:07:21 am
I think you can't download it for trial, they have a link 'Try it' but they want to say 'Try it online now'

So you may need to buy before try  :-[

25  IGoSite Customers / Quick Support / Re: spamming myself?? on: September 11, 2005, 09:47:32 am
This happens a lot, I'm afraid. It's easy to send out spam emails with anyone's email address as the From address. You can do it yourself using a number of email clients, like Eudora or Mozilla Mail... just set up a personality profile with someone else's email address as the sender, and there you go.

So his email *account* hasn't necessarily been hijacked, but his email address is being spoofed. Unfortunately, this means his email address MAY end up being banned in some companies, if lots of spam is seemingly coming from it. Hopefully that won't happen because many systems are intelligent enough to see that the mail server the spam is coming from isn't the same as the domain being used in the From address. That's my understanding; hopefully it's true in most cases.

A good thing to do is just notify his clients that someone is doing this, and he himself is not the source of the spam. Hopefully the situation will not last for long, until the spammer starts using someone else's address instead. Hopefully!

28  Chit-Chat / Software testing / Re: SMF So big! on: September 11, 2005, 05:25:46 am
we enable ssh on demand.
ssh is always enabled but not yet activated for use in all of the hosting accounts, when customer needs to use it, he just need to click the button 'ON' and then we will receive that request and then ssh is activated for his/her account.

Well, what can I say?
there are 'hosts' and 'hosts'
I don't think they can deny ssh access to customers.
